WARM WEATHER & HEAT CAUTIONS
All solid butter products from ButterBath.com are susceptible to softening and/or melting in warmer temperatures. Shipping can also exposes butters to unpredictable temperature shifts.
PLEASE USE CAUTION when opening shipped butter products, especially in summer and/or warmer months, because contents may have softened and/or liquefied. If you are concerned, we suggest popping the products in the freezer for approximately 15-30 minutes before opening.
PLEASE USE CAUTION when opening any solid butter products that has been exposed to direct and/or indirect heat, regardless of the source of the heat, noting that butters may have softened and/or liquefied. If you are concerned, we suggest popping the products in the freezer for approximately 15-30 minutes before opening.
These HEAT CAUTIONS hopefully will help you to enjoy your products fully, without risking stained clothing or slippery surfaces that may result if you open a solid butter product that may spill out if it has softened, and especially if it has liquefied.
Additionally, we suggest that you refrain from leaving most of our solid butter products in your car on warmer and/or hot days, because internal car temperatures can rise above the melting points of many of the butters we use in our formulations. If this happens, you can re-solidify most products without any problem by simply popping them in the freezer for approximately 15-30 minutes. This usually is all that needs to be done to restore the original perfectly solid state of the butter moisturizers.
You may also need to consult our Butter Crystallization Page, if there is a grainy feeling to any of our formulations that contain shea butter. Shea butter is finicky about even subtle temperature changes. It doesn't affect the usability of the product, only the touch/feel of the product.
